The intrigues of royalty and nobility make life complicated and perilous for Kate, but she keeps her vow to King Richard whom she had loved from afar. In the rugged country of Yorkshire, Kate and the boy Richard (rightful heir to the throne) guard their secret well.

With the help of Eagar, who came with them at the behest of the king, Kate rejuvenates the run-down estate of her husband, Lord Mellor, whom she knows only by reputation. Even though she is only eighteen, she had learned how to manage a household and servants during her years at court with a querulous queen.

Mellorsdale estate prospers. However, it becomes the property of the crude warrior Welshman Efan Caradoc by edict of the new king Henry Tudor after King Richard and Lord Mellor are killed and the war is lost.

Kate had also learned the art of plotting, planning, and scheming. With the help of Edgar and the abbot, she keeps Richard safe, but the price is high. She pays with her freedom to keep Richard from being sent away to be a page and to keep herself from being sent to a convent.

Efan Caradoc, son of a kitchen wench, has no idea who his father is. He survived only by being meaner than the brutes that mistreated him all his life until he grew big and tough. Having proven himself a loyal and winning warrior and leader, he is awarded Mellorsdale.

Uneducated, with no knowledge of the rugged, inhospitable Yorkshire country and with no experience managing an estate, Efan resents Kate's abilities, but needs her help. Thus, begins an uneasy relationship as Kate and Efan struggle with life in tumultuous times. From two vastly different backgrounds, they suffer hurts, emotional upheavals, and share breathtaking moments of intimacy, but Efan declares there is not such thing as love. How they bridge the gape in their beliefs and reach their happy-ever-after makes Dangerous Enchantment a tension-filled, page-turner.

Margaret Blake's captivating characters and her descriptions along with a plot that keeps the reader's rapt attention make Dangerous Enchantment good reading.

A Sure Winner

A common belief, fostered by literature and film, is that Richard III, last of the Plantagenet, was a villain and may have been responsible for the murder of his own nephews. A number of writers and historians have advanced alternate theories, showing Richard as a just and honest ruler and attributing the deaths of the princes to others or dismissing it as a vile rumor spread by supporters of the dastardly Tudors.

Dangerous Enchantment offers another alternate theory in which the younger prince, Richard, Duke of York, survives and is protected by the lady in waiting of the king's wife and other loyal servants.

Kate accedes to Richard's command and marries Lord Mellor, going into hiding at his Yorkshire estate where the young duke is passed off as her stepson, scion of her husband. After Richard and Mellor are killed at Bosworth, Kate and her ward hope to escape to Burgundy with other loyalists.

But, before they can do so, Efan Caradoc, a Welsh supporter of the Tudor, arrives with his retinue and inform them he has been awarded the property of her deceased husband. The bastard son of a kitchen wench, Caradoc and Kate clash at first. Eventually both succumb to love, which sets the stage for other dangerous conflicts.

As a supporter of the good Richard theory, I was intrigued by Margaret Blake's version which offers captivating characters, an action-packed plot with plenty of twists and suspense, including a reasonable explanation for the fate of the younger Richard. Throw in the spicy romantic development and you've got a sure winner.

A young woman promises to protect the next heir of the throne after the outcome of the WAR OF THE ROSES. Quickly married to an earl before the final battle, she hides at his estate with the boy. After the earl's death and as a reward for service, Henry bestows the land to a Welsh Lord. The conflict between the lord and lady starts from the first and becomes a battle between them,even after they are married. A very tense read to an interesting ending.

This book describes the structure, properties, processing and performance relationships of materials and their use in engineering. This book competes in a rather crowded market sector of materials books but has a unique design-orientated approach, which should help set it apart from the regular texts that appear on the subject. The authors, Prof G S Upadhyaya and Dr Anish Upadhyaya from Indian Institute of Technology, are established materials researchers, publishing widely in the fields of materials and metallurgy. A foreword by Prof. Guenter Petzow from the Max Planck Institute for metals research in Germany, acknowledges the invaluable linkage between materials science and engineering through straightforward explanation and sensitivity to student learning.The book is logically organised into 12 integrated chapters that gradually builds the subject from fundamentals to applications, providing the opportunity for students and practitioners to readily access information at an appropriate stage. The early part of the book introduces materials science fundamentals and materials properties, followed by a key chapter describing engineering materials (by class) in detail. This is followed by a series of chapters on materials processing, including forming, removal and joining and surface modification. The final and by far the largest chapter, titled materials design, contains an extensive range of materials case studies, forty four in total, that blend real world examples and principles from earlier chapters in the book. This chapter is clearly the high point of the book, which all the preceding chapters prerequisite, discriminating it against more conventional books on the subject. The chapter also includes important sections on materials and materials process selection, which are vital to the optimal use of materials in practical situations.The book is very well illustrated, with a good selection of high quality line diagrams, graphs and tables. The scanned images from external sources are of relatively poor quality by still clear, and all these images have full details of their source included to follow up further information if considered necessary. Although the use of micrographs is minimal, some micrographs omit their magnification detail. There are also some very minor typographical problems and figure inaccuracies noted, which tend to creep into the production of work of this magnitude. This is a quality textbook and although reasonably self-contained, usefully complements materials data books for more advanced materials selection and engineering problem solving.Each chapter contains several detailed worked examples, and to test understanding, each chapter concludes with a large selection of questions and problems (with answers). This feature is clearly useful for teaching purposes but also helps exemplify highly technical and often abstract theory, reinforcing students' learning. The units used are predominantly metric but some imperial units are included from external sources. Where possible, the author has taken the trouble to convert the units. Each chapter also concludes with a list of key references (or bibliography) of textbooks, although no papers are listed. About the Author

Imam Muslim is one of the foremost preservers of ahadith of the Prophet. His book comes second only to Sahih al Bukhari in terms of authenticity according to majority of scholars. It is considered to be better than Sahih Bukhari in terms of organization and repetition according to some scholars of Islam. It is the second in the collection of 6 books called 'Sihah Sittah' or '6 most authentic books'. Imam Muslim took painstaking efforts in preserving the words/actions/sayings and approvals of the Prophet. He has mostly used 4-5 narrators in the chain of transmission although there are a couple of hadith containing 3 narrators. Imam Muslim was a very good student of Imam Bukhari and some of his Shuyukhs, although he did not narrate from Imam Bukhari too much, thus reducing the # of narrators.

As a Muslim must have Sahih Muslim

The publisher (Daarussalam) printed very good and much better than Tafsir Ibn Kathir (2003) and Sahih al-Bukhari (1997).
As a muslim we should do everything based on Al-Qur'an and As-Sunnah (Hadist). Sahih Muslim is one of the best compiled hadist after sahih al-bukhari. So, I strong recommend to every muslim must have it because we can learn by ourself rather than "we are doing TAQLID that mean follow the imam / syaikh and we do not know the original hadist). Great variety of fun and educational games

As a karate instructor, I appreciate the creativity Sensei Massie demonstrates in this short yet informative book. I am planning my fall classes now and will be incorporating not only the games and activities, but the explanations of the benefits of each. After teaching for almost 35 years, my kids' classes were feeling a little stale. This book gave me the shot of adrenaline I needed and I'm sure my students will appreciate. The games are easy to incorporate regardless of class size and should be very helpful with my students in my Special Needs class who have difficulty staying focused. Many thanks to the author.

A lot of great drills and games

The drills and games in this book will be great for teaching my kids. Some are simple and will be perfect for my 5 and 6 year old. Others will be better when they are bigger and stronger. Variations on some of them will keep even the simple skills fun for older kids. I've tried a few of these already and my kids love them, and they are learning techniques at the same time. This should help me keep my kids interested in martial arts for a long time.
