My husband gave me this book from my wish list. I am very interested in astrology & have great respect for other works by Liz Greene.

I cannot put this book down. And I absolutely must read the previous volumes. Then I will read this Vol 4 again!

Because it is a transcription of a seminar there are references to the previous volumes, expecting the reader to have knowledge of what came before. Yet it is very informative on its own.

Astrology claims we are primarily our sun-sign yet when dealing with personal issues it always seems the focus is on an outer planet's aspect to our inner planets. In isolation.
Understanding how an individual's planets in sign, house & aspect are integrated is difficult because of seeming contradictions. By looking at these 3 planets as psychic components of the personality the authors add personality & character to the planets. My Ah-Ha moment was this statement by LG "One simple definition of Mars is that it is the fighting principle for the Sun, and in a sense the fighting principle for all the inner planets which lie within its orbit." I now have an image of a armored (or amour-ed) warrior defending the Queen (or King) filled w/ nuance of character flaws and strengths.
Of course the planets are discussed in many other forms: mythology, current beliefs, audience participation and reference charts. The author's blending of the spiritual, the science of psychology, and the purely personal makes for a valuable resource in understanding and tolerance. The subtitle "Building Blocks of Personal Reality" is misleading as the work actually removes the block-concept and helped me to see a more cohesive personal whole. 3 down 9 to go.

Magic crystals change his humdrum existence, and soon he is off on a great adventure on a giant peach with new friends who are, to say the least, unique. There are sharks, seagulls, and irate cloud people to add interest along the way and, of course, Dahl's irreverent poetry. The story has always been a crowd-pleaser, and Jeremy Irons does more than read the story-he performs it. Each character has a unique voice, aptly suiting each personality, and Irons tells the story with humor and energy. Fans of Dahl will not be disappointed in this briskly paced tale that is a delight from beginning to end.

My son loved this script version of the classic story!

My 7 year old son had to write a book report on a play or script so I needed to find something that would be appropriate for his age. I found this book on Amazon and hoped that he would enjoy it. He loved it! He loved the wonderful Roald Dahl story, but also how the book gives helpful tips for stage setting and costumes. He wants to put on this play himself! Customers need to realize this is a SCRIPT for a PLAY of "James and the Giant Peach". It has been ADAPTED from the original story to serve the purpose of theatre. If that fits your needs, I highly recommend this book!

Great Read-a-Loud for my first grader

Many of us are familiar with this story so I am going to comment on how I used it. My husband reads to our son at night. He has a short attention span but we want him to get longer books to build his comprehension. This book is great because it is engaging, but the short chapters make it easy to read only a small section each night. My son loves "peach book."

like the Aunts calling James "stupid"

I remember having to read this as a kid in school... so I got it to read together with my young daughter. Totally forgot that it had a lot of crazy stuff... like the Aunts calling James "stupid", "you little brute/beast" and uses other words like "@$$". I realize that this was normal for the time that the book was written, but I try to keep my kiddos from using such phrases and words. I did a lot of re-wording and my daughter didn't notice! Anyway... fun story, but just be aware that it does have those things in it!

John Dean understands the research of social scientists Adorno (The Authoritarian Personality) and Rokeach (The Open and Closed Mind) These are books that author Peter Thomas obviously never read and probably would not understand even if he did.

The Conservatives waste of time

The conservative movement must have a place somewhere that continually spews out bad books to counter well researched serious books. This is another propaganda book that must come from there. If you notice at least 5 books come out each month with the same lame authors that hatefully bash the Moderate, Democratic or Liberal side. If you add this to the 24 hours of anger filled conservative talk radio. It looks like they have a problem with any other ideals except their own. If they would have their way it would be a democracy like Iran and they would be the supreme leaders. Freedom of speech would only be on their terms.

How does an author find a publisher for this drivel? Where are the credentials of a scholarly, well-researched disputation, if this purports to be one? This is nothing more than a couch-potato, knee-jerk spasmodic reaction from the lunatic fringe of the far-right to the work of an acknowledged apostate from the conservative movement when it was conservative, and not the neo-oddity it became. If you buy this book it is because you have too much money, too much time or you believe in the tooth fairy. This thing belongs on the trash-heap of history and judging by the Amazon Sales ranking it is on its way there, albeit not fast enough ...

Pat Laprade is the creator of the first Quebec wrestling Hall of Fame and yearly awards. He contributes to the websites for SLAM! Sports wrestling and the "Wrestling Observer." He lives in Montreal, Quebec. Bertrand Hebert is the former creative mind behind Northern Championship Wrestling in the 1990s, helping to usher the Montreal territory into the independent era of the sport. He lives in Beauharnois, Quebec.

Incredible research

I've read 99% of all pro wrestling books written and this one is near the top of the food chain. It is incredibly researched and offered a tremendous history into wrestling in Montreal. Even though I'd followed wrestling history, I had no idea of Andre The Giant's strong roots in the territory and the importance of Dino Bravo to the territory. If I have any quibble with the book, and it's minor, one is made to feel that Jean Pierre Lafitte was an important figure in the WWF in the mid 90's, when he was mostly used as a midcarder. That is nothing against the guy as I remember viewing an incredible opening match he had with Bob Holly in a nearly empty madison square garden in the mid 90's.

How about a biography focused on the Rougeaus as a follow up?

Excellent research by the authors! They took a look at a territory that is often forgotten but at one time was a hugely successful and thriving territory. Thank you guys and I look forward to your other projects!

I have recommended this book to others in, and if you have an interest in wrestling history this is a great book for you! Having been in contact with one of the authors through the years (Patric Laprade) I know how much effort went into researching the project. A great book for sure!

A wrestling book not to be missed!

Pat and Bert's book is an amazing walk back to the lost era of professional wrestling in Montreal. As an old-school wrestling fan this is one of those books that is hard to put down once you start reading it. It's full of great stories, breathtaking photos and immediately takes you back to the 1970s and 80s in Montreal. Back to a time when professional wrestling was still "real" and not sports entertainment! I give this book my highest recommendation and am confident you won't be disappointed.
