Children become a team of bucketfillers, working together to make a positive difference in their school. Weekly bucketfilling approaches are taught through 10 activity-based leaning sessions. Each social-skill lesson is reinforced throughout the week as students use the targeted skill to fill other people's buckets. Children's self-esteem and confidence grow as they practice the different ways of bucektfilling though positive peer interactions. Weekly parent/teacher updates and tips are included for each session.

About the Author
Lisa Hansen is a licensed school counselor in Minnesota. She has seven years experience working as an elementary school counselor and is currently in her third year as a high school counselor. Lisa has also worked extensively with grieving children and teens for over 10 years as a co-director for a children's grief support program in the Twin Cities. Lisa has a degree in Psychology and Master's degree in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

It had some good ideas, and it's okay

It's curriculum that we are required to use. It had some good ideas, and it's okay. I'm not knocking it, but with it being based on the book Have you Filled a Bucket Today?, I expected a lot more. That book is awesome. In comparison to Tribes or Adventures in Peace Making or Building Intentional Communities, The Bucket Squad is nice.

LOVE The Bucket Squad!

As elementary school counselor, I'm using this book as a curriculum for friendship groups for children in grades K-3. The bucket-filling concept is something that kids easily understand, and I've found they naturally buy into this program. This book is a way to explicitly teach social skills and kindness - qualities that our world needs more of! The lessons are easy to follow, and the reproducible activities are valuable. Highly recommended resource!
