Good book but out of date - needs updated with DSM-V material.

The cases in this book are great - the book is a great learning tool. However, the psychiatry/behavioral medicine material is outdated. This book relies on DSM-IV content and current Step 1 questions are now based on DSM-V content. This needs to be updated because until it is, the book is much less helpful.

pretty good, but too many mistakes in answer key

The questions themselves are OK and complement first aid. However there are quite a few mistakes (especially in the answer pages), which is unacceptable since this is the 3rd edition. I would recommend uworld and Rx before this book.

Overall good but has issues

It's decent. Matches up with the First Aid sections. But there were a lot of problems with the quality. There were pictures missing ("refer to the EKG...", no EKG), a few examples of incorrect information, none of the images are in color in my copy (makes gram stains difficult), but overall it's a decent collection of questions. Not UWorld level/quality but probably worth the investment for people looking for questions to review with broken down by topic.

On to the 4th floor!!!

SAO progressive is possibly better than the original LN. Journeying with Kirito and Asuna before they are all lovey dovey is a really cool new experience. Kirito is alot more anti-social here and Asuna is alot more independent, not to mention the biggest tsundere i've ever seen!!! Even with the occasional comedy relief between the two of them, together, the are a force to be reckoned with. Join Kirito and Asuna on there journey to conquer the 4th floor of Aincrad!

Just finished reading and it was a pretty good read

Just finished reading and it was a pretty good read. The story feels similar to the second Progressive novel though I prefer how the first was written better. Still it was entertaining to read and definitely worthwhile. I only really wish the secondary characters were more prominent in the story so they could be developed more.

I suppose I should let everyone know this is the Light Novel and not the Manga since that seems to get come up quite often as a complaint.

Brad Wilcox is a professor of teacher education at Brigham Young University, where he also works with Especially for Youth and Education Week programs. wonderful book

This book is one of the very best I have read to explain the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Wilcox is an excellent public speaker and writes just as well. He gives examples and stories that help one to relate to the different aspects of the Atonement. It is not just for teens--it really is for everyone; though most of his stories are of college students or teens he has worked with. I gave this as a graduation gift this year to my Sunday School class (18 year olds) and my hope is that they WILL read it and apply the Atonement in their lives.

This a great book to help teens understand the Atonement in their terms. Its set up as a lesson with questions and study plan. Great for the grand kids Sunday School classes. We got a copy for each child in the class we teach. A worthwhile purchase.

Understand the Atonement on a deeper level with clear teachings and excellent examples

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the new book, The Continuous Atonement for Teens by Brad Wilcox. The Atonement of Jesus Christ is central to my belief in the gospel and understanding how the atonement works in my life has made all the difference for me, especially over the past two years. I have went through some rough times and relied on the Lord to get me through. I've seen how putting my trust and faith in Him has made it possible for me to continue, keep moving forward, even when times are tough.

The reason I love The Continuous Atonement for teens is because Brad Wilcox explains the principles of the atonement and how it works in clear context. He gives excellent examples, inspiring stories, and so much hope for this gift that we've been given. I have marked several passages in my book and I'm so glad that I have this so that my own children can read it and understand how grace and works make the gospel what it is and how the atonement is for ALL of us ALL the time.

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I believe in the Bible and the Book of Mormon--both works teach of Jesus Christ and the love our Heavenly Father has for all of us. I'm grateful that His grace is sufficient for me and that through His atonement I can continue to move forward and learn all that I need to while on this earthly sojourn.

I love these lines from the book:

"Saving requires an Atonement. Redeeming requires a continuous Atonement. Being born again requires an Atonement. Being reared to spiritual adulthood requires a continuous Atonement."

I'm grateful for the Atonement and I think this book is an excellent teaching tool to understand and apply to life.

This book is the teen version of Brad's book, The Continuous Atonement which I'm looking forward to reading next.

Santa's Secrets Applied All Year Long!

Occasionally, a book comes along that presents leadership concepts in a new and exciting way. That's exactly what these authors have done. I was hooked from the introduction and didn't quit reading until I finished the closing thoughts. I still find myself picking it up again and again.
I was impressed by how practical Santa's advice was throughout this book. The ideas can be applied immediately and the book provides plenty of material to keep on giving.
Some people may think, "This is a good idea for the holidays" even though the sub-title hints it's going to be useful all year long. It didn't take many pages to convince me this is isn't just a holiday book -- Santa's secrets apply to every day throughout the whole year. I strongly recommend this book for all types of settings.

Sometimes the obvious is worth repeating

Mr. Ellis' professional track-record is virtually universally recognized as unassailable. Consistency means everything in investing, and as America's economy of consumption seems prepared to power dive into terrain, Ellis' remarks will be seem either obvious or alarming. After all, the title tells us that it's 'common sense.' And it really is.

If you want drama, watch CNBC. If you want reason, read this book. The entire book is built on painfully obvious observations, so those seeking analytical rigor or "an edge" will be left wanting. But for patient people, this book offers an opportunity to avoid very predictable mistakes at every turn in the business cycle.

Ellis' advice to wake up and get over the "recession obsession" is particularly timely (again) at the end of 2007. As the markets reprice or just write-down the subprime meltdown by tens of billions at a whack, and as we watch consumer spending remain bewilderingly robust while year-over-year increases in credit card delinquency rates hit double digits and unit energy prices reach for records, the old-timers know *exactly* where this is going. So Ellis tells us: don't dwell on recession; accept that it will be recognized (late, by definition) and position yourself (now!) for the recovery.

Ellis' style is very readable, not always persuasive on the details (again, the lack of rigor) and mostly obvious. But if you didn't get it the first time around, you need to buy this book. Finally, the companion website -- which is free -- will be of interest to (and a timesaver for) many armchair investors.

This book is definitely worth reading.

The author's approach toward economic data is very refreshing, in that he works quite hard at finding data that is predictive of stock market declines. Just the chapter on the "recession obsession", and why its bad for you makes the whole book worthwhile. It really put a lot of economic numbers in perspective, and made me realize it was actually possible to use economic numbers to your advantage.

I would also add that his writing style is very easy to follow. While it definitely helps if you have some background in economics, it is really not necessary.

ABSOLUTELY INEFFECTUAL

Interesting observations based on the personal consumption expenditures (PCE) indicator from the Commerce Department and the chain effect between real average hourly wages, real consumer spending, real corporate profits, industrial production and services and real capital spending...

As a forecasting tool it is totally ineffectual... Mr. Ellis does not even incorporate the S&P500 movement in any of his charts; therefore, he does not compare and prove the implied correlation...

Investors are constantly attempting to anticipate the market's next move based on the latest data on dozens of economic indicators that are published on a weekly basis... There is too much financial information and a lot of it contradicts each other... You will not predict the inmediate direction of the stock market by comparing supposed past correlations between economic indicators and the movement of the S&P500 because every economic cycle is shaped by a different set of circumstances... The alleged correlations DO NOT play out and are full of inconsistencies...
